PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Benona Township Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at the regular meeting on Thursday, April 9th at 6:30 pm at the Benona Township Hall located at 7169 Baker Road in Benona Township, Ocean County, Michigan.

Planning Commission review, discussion, decision, and recommendation of the Benona Township Zoning Ordinance, including the following: Title, Purpose and Scope, Definitions, General Provisions, Standards of Use, Nonconforming Uses and Buildings, Zoning Districts, Agricultural, Rural Residential, Commercial, Mixed Use, Residential, Coastal Zone, Dune Overlay, Special Use Procedures, Standards for Special Uses, Off Street Parking and Loading Requirements, Landscaping and Screening Requirements, Signs, Site Plan Review, Floodplain Development Standards, Administration Organization, Zoning Board of Appeals, Enforcement, District Changes and Ordinance Amendments, a revised Zoning Map, and any other matters that may come before the Planning Commission as it relates to the draft Benona Township Zoning Ordinance 2026.

Any interested person who wishes to review any related information to the above may examine a copy of the draft Ordinance and the Township Hall by contacting the clerk during her office hours. Any written comments will be received concerning the above matter by the Benona Township Clerk at any time during regular business hours on regular business days until and including the day of the meeting, and may further be submitted to the Planning Commission at the meeting.
All interested persons are invited to be present at the aforesaid time and place.
Benona Township will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services at the meeting to individuals with disabilities upon five (5) days advanced notice to the Township. Individuals with disabilities requiring services should contact the Township Clerk.
